Our mission is to help people adapt to an ecological lifestyle, and healthier way of living, so that we can collectively improve the environment we live in. Our air, land and water life systems are being poisoned increasingly due to unconscious lifestyles and there are now 7 billion people living on our beautiful planet. In the 1950s there were 3.5 billion human inhabitants taking from these systems that support human life on Earth,. We need to restore a balance so that future generations can enjoy a healthy environment in which to live. Eco Homes and Gardens, the website, is a place where we hope you will spend time learning how to live a more conscious lifestyle. Being 'eco' isn't about being 'organic' and being able to afford the expensive goods in shops or being a 'hippy' either. It is learning to live more responsibly as 'human beings' and caring about the state of the planet we hand on to future generations. We do this by starting in our own homes and gardens. Be your own government or as Mohatma Gandhi said 'Become the change You want to see'. Eco innovations are growing even in the current economic climate and this trend will continue, so being Eco is hip and with the times really. We promote eco businesses on our website for people who do not have the time to DIY. If you purchase from any of the businesses listed on this site please mention our name so that we can collectively benefit the Eco Schools project we are championing. The aim of our journey is to make Eco Homes and Gardens a quality assured name that funds lots of eco education in Ireland with your support. The photographs featured above show a self built home that cost approximately €4000 to build in Wales (price does not include labour of 1000-1500 hours). In the future we are planning to run courses on how to build a home/garden guesthouse like this and eco organic garden designs. If you are interested in participating in such a course contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . If you feel like you have something to offer our vision please contact us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . In particular we are looking for a webdesigner and marketing specialist with Joomla! open source software experience and an interest in sustainable living. We are building our team and anyone with skills and motivation that can benefit the overall vision will be welcomed on board. Ultimately WE are a community.
