Grow Potatoes In A Dustbin

Potatoes grow well in any container. This video shows quite a good crop from a dust bin. Adding one third well rotted manure to your soil mix will give excellent results. Planting potatoes in a container like a dustbin allows you to produce crops very easily and the leftover soil can be recycled back into your compost mix for use again next year. I really like the following video because it shows an elderly couple enthusiastically waiting to see their 'harvest' from 5 potatoes planted. They are like excited children discovering a find. Wonderful to see the joy and pride in their efforts. Try growing spuds in any container that is deep enough. Plant your potatoes 1/3 distance from the bottom of the container and add soil mix vertically 'earth up' as the leaves grow upwards. This way more potatoes will grow upwards towards the top of the container.
